Physiotherapy is also called "physical therapy". It attempts to treat what limits a person's abilities to move and do things in their daily life.[1]

It is the treatment of disease, injury, deformity or disability to improve the quality of life. Physiotherapists use exercise, hands-on technique, patient education and various modalities.

Physiotherapy plays an important role in the recovery of stroke patients. It also plays a major role in treating children with cerebral palsy, and in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy has three main categories which are orthopedics, neurophysiotherapy, and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. Sports physiotherapists specialise in the strains and injuries caused to sportspeople.
