Pied Piper of Hamelin
German legend
The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a German fairy tale. In it the town of Hamelin has a rat problem. So they hire a man with a flute called The Pied Piper to get rid of them. The Pied Piper plays music and mind controls the rats into walking into a lake and drowning. The Piper asks to be paid but the people refuse to pay him so The Piper plays music and mind controls the children into following him out of town. This story is also from where the saying “it’s time to pay the Piper” comes.
