Police cell
temporary arrest cell
A police cell, also called a drunk tank, holding tank or temporary holding cell is a large room in a police station or the booking suite of a jail for temporarily holding arrested people or those awaiting transfer to another, more permanent facility. Such a cell in the developed world, especially the United States and United Kingdom, typically has a toilet, payphone (to call lawyers or someone to post bail), and a long bench attached to the wall and floor.
