Pope-elect Stephen

priest of Rome elected pope in March 752

Pope-elect Stephen (died 25 March 752) was a Roman priest. He was chosen to become pope in March 752. He died of a stroke before he was consecrated.[1][2] At that time, a person became pope after he was consecrated.[3] So, Stephen is considered only a pope-elect. He is not considered a real pope.
