Rathore caste

A Raghuvanshi(descendants of Lord Ram) Rajput clan

Rathore or Rathod is a ruling Rajput clan, claiming descent from the mythical Suryavansh (Solar dynasty).[1][2] However, historians state that such claims of illustrious descent though common among Rajput clans have historical basis.[3][4] According to some British indologist and historians like V. A. Smith, the Rathores are offshoot of the Gaharwarh Rajputs.[5]
