Reinhard Genzel

German astronomer

Reinhard Genzel ForMemRS (born 24 March 1952) is a German astrophysicist. He was born in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany. His works relate to infrared and submillimetre astronomy.

He was elected a member of the Academia Europaea in 1995.[1]

Genzel was awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize for Physics, which he shared with Andrea Ghez and Roger Penrose.[2]
