Richard Fischer

Richard Fischer (27 January 1917 – 1969) was an Austrian footballer. He played for First Vienna FC. He also played for the Austrian national football team.

Career

During the Nazi occupation of Austria Vienna were winner of the Gauliga Donau-Alpenland three times. Once he reached the final of the German Championship once he won the Tschammer-Cup (1943).

After 16 seasons for First Vienna FC, one season (1934–35) for Nussdorfer AC, and two seasons (1948–49 and 1949–50) for the Floridsdorfer AC, he ended his 19-year football career at the age of 35.

International

Richard Fischer played three matches for the Austrian national football team. His first match was a 3-2 loss against Czechoslowakia on 24 October 1937. His last international match was a 5-2 loss versus Hungary on 20 August 1945.

Manager

From 1958 to 1959 he was the manager of First Vienna FC.
