Richard Fischer

Austrian association football player

Richard Fischer (27 January 1917 – 1969) was an Austrian footballer. He played for First Vienna FC. He also played for the Austrian national football team.[1]

Career

During the Nazi occupation of Austria Vienna were winner of the Gauliga Donau-Alpenland three times. Once he reached the final of the German Championship once he won the Tschammer-Cup (1943).

After 16 seasons for First Vienna FC, one season (1934–35) for Nussdorfer AC, and two seasons (1948–49 and 1949–50) for the Floridsdorfer AC, he ended his 19-year football career at the age of 35.

International

Richard Fischer played three matches for the Austrian national football team. His first match was a 3-2 loss against Czechoslowakia on 24 October 1937. His last international match was a 5-2 loss versus Hungary on 20 August 1945. [2]

Manager

From 1958 to 1959 he was the manager of First Vienna FC.
