Rodrigo Lara

Colombian lawyer and politician (1946–1984)

Rodrigo Lara Bonilla (August 11, 1946 – April 30, 1984) was a Colombian lawyer and politician. He served as Minister of Justice under President Belisario Betancur. He was a known critic of Pablo Escobar.[1]

Lara was killed in a drive-by-shooting in Bogota on April 30, 1984 by orders of Pablo Escobar because of his work as Minister and for prosecuting the Medellín Cartel. He was 37 years old.[2]
