Rohingya conflict

sectarian conflict in Rakhine State, Myanmar

The Rohingya conflict is an ongoing conflict in the north of Rakhine State of Myanmar. Most people in the state are Buddhists, but the Rohingya are Muslims. During the World War II, the Rohingya fought with the British, against the Buddhists. For their fighting, the British promised them a Muslim state. After the war, Burma became independent, and was now called Myanmar. It did not create such a state though.
