Rooney Mara

American actress (born 1985)

Patricia Rooney Mara (born April 17, 1985)[1] is an American actress. She has acted in movies, including A Nightmare on Elm Street (the remake of the 1984 horror movie) and The Social Network. Mara played Lisbeth Salander, the title character for the 2011 remake movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance. In 2013, she starred in the movie Side Effects.

Mara is also known for her charity work. She oversees the charity Uweza Foundation,[2] which supports programs for children and families in the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya. Her sister is Kate Mara.
