Sérgio Sant'Anna

Brazilian writer (1941–2020)

Sérgio Sant'Anna (October 30, 1941 – May 10, 2020) was a Brazilian writer. He was born in Rio de Janeiro. He wrote poems, plays, short stories, novellas and novels. His works have been translated to German and Italian.

Sant'Anna was known for his collection of poems titled O Concerto de João Gilberto no Rio de Janeiro. He also wrote the 1981 play Um Romance de Geração. His 2003 short novel O vôo da madrugada was translated to many languages.

Sant'Anna died on May 10, 2020 in Rio de Janeiro of COVID-19, aged 78.[1]
