Sam Brinton

American nuclear waste disposal expert

Samuel Otis Brinton (born 1986/1987)[1] is an American nuclear engineer, and LGBTQ activist who served in the Biden administration as the deputy assistant Secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy from June to December 2022.[2][3][4] Accused of luggage theft twice, this has led to disemployment.[4]

Brinton was the first openly non-binary person in federal government leadership.[5]
