Sanyika Shakur

American criminal (1963–2021)

Sanyika Shakur (born Kody Dejohn Scott; November 13, 1963 – June 6, 2021),[1][2] also known by his former street moniker Monster or Monster Kody, was a former member of the Los Angeles gang the Eight Tray Gangster Crips. He got his nickname when he beat a robbery victim until he was disfigured.[3] He wrote a 1993 memoir called Monster: The Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member. He was born in Los Angeles.

Shakur was found dead in a homeless tent in Oceanside, California on June 6, 2021 at the age of 57.[4]
