Shams Badran

Egyptian politician and minister (1929–2020)

Shams Al Din Badran (Arabic: شمس الدين بدران; 19 April 1929 – 28 November 2020) was an Egyptian politician. He was Minister of Defence of Egypt during Gamal Abdel Nasser's era from 1966 to 1967. He also was Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces at the same time. He was removed from the ministry during the Six-Day War and later imprisoned.

Badran died at a Plymouth, Devon hospital on 28 November 2020 while living in exile since his prison release in 1974, aged 91.[1]
