Stanislav Bogdanovich
Ukrainian chess player (1993-2020)
Stanislav Eduardovich Bogdanovich (Ukrainian: Станіслав Едуардович Богданович; 4 February 1993 – 5 March 2020) was a Ukrainian chess player. He was born in Odesa. He was awarded the title of International Master in 2009, and Grandmaster in 2017. He was notably Ukrainian under-18 champion and the Champion of Odesa. In early March 2020, shortly before his death, he played in an online chess match for Russia against Ukraine.[1]
Bogdanovich was dating fellow chess player Alexandra Vernigora at the time of his death. On 5 March 2020, Bogdanovich was found dead alongside his girlfriend in a Moscow apartment. Police linked their deaths to an overdose of nitrous oxide.[2]
