Stratis Haviaras
Greek-American writer (1935-2020)
Stratis Haviaras (June 28, 1935 – March 4, 2020) was a Greek-American bilingual writer of literary works in English and Greek,[1][2] known in the U.S. for his novels When the Tree Sings[3] (shortlisted for the Natiοnal Book Award and named an ALA Notable book),[4][5] and The Heroic Age.[6] He also founded and edited the literary journals Arion’s Dolphin, Erato and Harvard Review.[7]
