Sunao Tsuboi

Sunao Tsuboi (坪井 直, Tsuboi Sunao, May 5, 1925 – October 24, 2021)[1] was a Japanese anti-nuclear and anti-war activist.

- In this Japanese name, the family name is Tsuboi.
He was a survivor of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. He was the co-chair of Nihon Hidankyo, a Japan-wide organisation of atomic and hydrogen bomb sufferers.[2]
In 2011 he was awarded the Kiyoshi Tanimoto peace prize.[3]
Tsuboi died on October 24, 2021 in Hiroshima at the age of 96.[4]
