Sylvie Maurial

French water skier

Sylvie Maurial-Jamin (born 19 September 1949) is a French water skier. She was named to the International Water Ski Hall of Fame.[1]

She competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics, where waterskiing was a demonstration sport, in the three events. She won the Jumping event, finished third in the Tricks event and finished 4th in the Slalom event.[2] At the 1973 Water Ski World Championships, she became world champion. She was 5 times European champion between 1971 and 1973.[3]

Maurial became Officer of the National Order of Merit on 10 May 1995.[4]

She is married to water skier Jean-Michel Jamin, who also competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Her daughter is Géraldine Jamin.
