This person identifies as Aboriginal. The Aboriginal community recognises her as such. Cathy Freemans wiki page describes her as an Indigenous Australian because this is the appropriate terminology to convey identity. It is not good enough to refer to her Aboriginality in terms of background or heritage. I have Viking heritage, I do not identity as Viking. The edit war being waged to sanitize her identity to appease white people is racist and unacceptable. The Aboriginal community recognises this as just another example of white privilege being used to obscure the success of an Indigenous Australian.
