@Cyber.Eyes.2005: Hello and thank you for contributing to the Feminism and Folklore contest 2024! I ran the lede of this article through my trusty readability checker and it came up college level. I'd like to see it much simpler before I give it an evaluation. Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:24, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Got it, I'll work on simplifying the lead. Thanks for the heads-up! – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 04:15, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Darkfrog24, I've simplified the page, and now it's much simpler. I also ran a readability test, which gave a score of 68.6 and a grade level of 5.6 on the Flesch-Kincaid scale. It's now easier for 11-12-year-olds to understand. Could you review it again? – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 05:13, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Absolutely! ...the gizmo is still giving me mostly high school with some formulae giving it as low as eighth grade.
- But the gizmo is the beginning, not the end. Let's see what my squishy brain has to say.
- It's harder to identify specific places to make this simpler than it was on the other article I just looked at. You got a lot of the obvious ones already. There's no more low-hanging fruit for me to point to.
- Instead of making a link on a difficult word, say what the difficult word means, like this: "The salamander is 22 mm long [[snout-vent length|from nose to rear end not counting the legs or tail]]." Darkfrog24 (talk) 00:38, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing. Also, I'll keep in mind your suggestion about explaining difficult words. Best, – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 10:28, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
