Talk:Mind
mind and brain
changeYou say that "the mind is part of the brain". But definitely not! Mind and brain pertain to two different levels. Parts of brain are the cortex and the hippocampus etc etc, not the mind.Mind actually appears to be the software of the brain similar to software of computer. In fact, the brain and computer both have the almost same properties, for example, the mind which is consisted of conscious and several mental aspects like emotion and free will, because of mind has a conscious so can act by its own then this means the software of the brain can organize and act by itself unlike computer which is lack of conscious which is needed for self action of its mind(software of computer). In this article, both the mind and software was classified as words with same meaning. 128.139.226.37 02:30, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Our mind is a screen. On which the film of life continues. This screen has two levels. One level is that on which the film of the material senses plays. Whatever wishes and demands come in the form of thoughts, they are reflected on the outer level of consciousness and the actions and functions of the material body are fulfilled under these demands.

Brain/Mind definition and clarification
changeI think a lot of people who are looking up the term "mind" are doing so to clarify between "brain" and "mind" so I feel a more detailed description at the beginning of the page is needed. Something that includes the brain as the physical organ that performs and the mind as a collection of concepts that make each person who they are; their emotions, their imagination, their interpretation of information they take in, their thoughts.
Also, there is a sentence that talks about "some people believe emotions are from the heart." I think this confuses things and should be removed. People talk about "feelings" in relation to the heart, but it is an abstract concept that only muddies things in this context.Heather-elizah (talk) 21:17, 3 May 2015 (UTC)heather-elizah
