Heyoo F&F 2024 participant. I excluded the verses from my text sample when running this article through my readability gizmo. I am getting an average of ninth grade.
I will now read this article with my mighty organic brain, which I keep in my skull.
Some parts of this could be more encyclopedic. "His time to ours" is a little poetic. The word "compiled" is linked to Compilation album, which might confuse readers. The best thing to do is to link [[complex word|explanation of complex word tailored to this audience]]. For example, [[snout-vent length|from nose to rear end]] or [[habitat|place where the animal lives]]. A lot of the time, simple English requires more words than regular English, not fewer.
The biggest issue is simplification. "at the age of eighty" could be better.
