The movie premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival on October 30, 2022. It was released in Australia on July 27, 2023. Critics liked the story, direction, scary scenes, special effects, and performances, especially by Wilde and Joe Bird. The movie was a big hit, earning about $92.2 million.[2] worldwide on a $4.5 million budget, making it A24's highest-grossing horror film.[3] A sequel is being worked on.
