Tarun Gogoi
former Chief Minister of the state of Assam in India (1936-2020)
Tarun Gogoi [2] (11 October 1934 – 23 November 2020) was an Indian politician. He was the Chief Minister of Assam from 2001 to 2016.[3][4][5]

He was a member of the Indian National Congress and led the party to a record three consecutive electoral victories in Assam.
On 26 August 2020, Gogoi was hospitalized with COVID-19 and was given a blood plasma transplant in Guwahati, Assam.[6] He died three months later on 23 November from problems caused by the infection, aged 86.[7][8][9]
