Template:Ct/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:Ct. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
In professional road cycling, the name of a team is usually the name of the sponsor, and it can change every year. This template is used to refer to a team and make sure that the name will change correctly.
If two sponsors are used in the team name, the sponsor names are separated by an en dash. The ct template tries to use that style, although not all the team templates may be updated yet.

Year
changeIn cycling, team names change with sponsors, and so the same team can have a completely different name in different years. For this, the year can be specified. If no year is specified, the most recent teamname is used. If a team changes names half-way a year, the two names are distinguished by adding a letter. For example, the team currently known as Tinkoff:
Code | Result | Note |
---|---|---|
{{ct|SAX}} | Tinkoff | no year specified |
{{ct|SAX|1998}} | home–Jack & Jones | the name the team had in the 1998 season. |
{{ct|SAX|1999}} | home–Jack & Jones | the name the team had in the 1999 season. |
{{ct|SAX|2000}} | Memory Card–Jack & Jones | |
{{ct|SAX|2001}} | CSC–Tiscali | |
{{ct|SAX|2002}} | CSC–Tiscali | |
{{ct|SAX|2003}} | Team CSC | |
{{ct|SAX|2004}} | Team CSC | |
{{ct|SAX|2005}} | Team CSC | |
{{ct|SAX|2006}} | Team CSC | |
{{ct|SAX|2007}} | Team CSC | |
{{ct|SAX|2008a}} | Team CSC | the name the team had in the first part of the 2008 season. |
{{ct|SAX|2008b}} | CSC–Saxo Bank | the name the team had in the last part of the 2008 season. |
{{ct|SAX|2009}} | Team Saxo Bank | |
{{ct|SAX|2010}} | Team Saxo Bank | |
{{ct|SAX|2011}} | Saxo Bank–SunGard | |
{{ct|SAX|2012a}} | Team Saxo Bank | |
{{ct|SAX|2012b}} | Saxo Bank–Tinkoff Bank | |
{{ct|SAX|2013}} | Saxo–Tinkoff | |
{{ct|SAX|2014}} | Tinkoff–Saxo | |
{{ct|SAX|nolink=yes}} | Tinkoff | the most recent name of the team, not linked. |
{{ct|SAX|1998|nolink=yes}} | home–Jack & Jones | the name of the team in 1998, not linked. |
If an unknown year is added, the template will show a bad result, for example
- {{ct|SAX|1997}} gives [[Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank|Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank]].
If this happens, it can be that you made a mistake, or that the year is not in the template yet. If the year should be there but is not in the template, add it to the template or make a request that it should be added.
