Usage tips

change

When this template is put into a Wikipedia article, please be kind to the regular Wikipedians who are working on those articles. This should be placed at the bottom of the article, usually the External links section. Sometimes it simply will not fit within the Wikipedia article at the bottom, so editors may have to use some judgement: think about using the inline version, {{Cite EB1911}}, and/or enlisting the cooperation of Wikipedians who normally edit the article, particularly if it is a larger and more popular article with many recent changes.

Hidden categories

change

There is a hidden maintenance category created by this template:

All the templates have to have a unnamed parameter for the name of the EB1911 article on Wikisource, because if the Wikipedia article is moved any article that does not have such a parameter will have the link to the article on Wikisource broken. It also means that if the Wikisource article is renamed finding any links to it are easier. So adding a parameter is a failsafe.
