Usage
Template:ISO 639 name alt is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code alt, for example: {{Translated page |alt |name of page at Southern Altai Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Southern Altai Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Southern Altai Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |alt}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|alt| some text in Southern Altai}} wraps the text with <span lang="alt"> and could be used by the template {{Lang}} with language code alt to include articles in Category:Articles containing Southern Altai-language text (may be created using {{Category articles containing non-English-language text |Southern Altai |alt}}). Also available is {{Lang-alt |some text in Southern Altai}} which displays as Altay: some text in Southern Altai.
- {{R from other language|alt|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Southern Altai-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|alt}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Southern Altai-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
