Usage
Template:ISO 639 name yi is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code yi, for example: {{Translated page |yi |name of page at Yiddish Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Yiddish Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Yiddish Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |yi}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|yi| some text in Yiddish}} wraps the text with <span lang="yi"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Yiddish-language text. Also available is {{Lang-yi |some text in Yiddish}} which displays as Yiddish: some text in Yiddish.
- {{R from other language|yi|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Yiddish-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|yi}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Yiddish-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
