Template:Pedigree chart top/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Pedigree chart top.
It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This was created to allow for the width of pedigree charts to adapt if there is a tall thumbnail to the right. Put it and {{pedigree chart bottom}} on separate lines from the pedigree chart template they wrap around.

{{Pedigree chart top}}: by default, shows Relatives of X where X is the name of the article

{{Pedigree chart top|title}}: to change the title of the table

{{Pedigree chart top|width=100%}}: to change the width of the table

This template will show a collapsed (fully-closed) version of the enclosed pedigree chart when first seen on the page, with a "(show)" option for the reader. To show the reader on first sight a uncollapsed pedigree chart, with a title bar with a "(hide)" option, add |collapsed=no.
