Template:Scottish council populations/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:Scottish council populations. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This is a group of templates that provide an easy method to link to population statistics for Scottish districts. The templates are updated from time to time as the Office for National Statistics (ONS) releases new data, thus it should not be necessary to manually update the articles or their references. Districts are identified by passing a GSS code as a parameter. The Office for National Statistics began using the new GSS codes in preference to the old ONS codes in January 2011, and support for the old 4 character codes has been removed from this template.
The templates are:
- {{Scottish council populations}} – gives the population, rank or density for a district
- {{Scottish council control}} – gives current political control
The following also apply
- {{United Kingdom district population citation}} – gives a citation for the source of population data
- {{United Kingdom statistics year}} – gives the year to which the estimate applies (not the year it was generated)
