American conservative think tank founded in 1973

The Heritage Foundation (sometimes referred to simply as "Heritage") is an American conservative think tank. They are based in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1973 and was important in the conservative movement in the 1980s during the presidency of Ronald Reagan.[4]

The Heritage Foundation is very influential in U.S. public policy making, and has been seen as among the most influential public policy organizations in the United States.[5]

Heritage leads the 2025 Presidential Transition Project, also known as Project 2025, a plan to increase presidential control over the executive branch of government.[6]
