The International Association for Assyriology

The International Association for Assyriology (IAA) is a non-profit, non-political organization founded in July 2003 and located in in Leiden. It is an organization known for its studies in cuneiform writing, ancient world history and archaeology. Its impact is national, to international or private institutions and to the general public.[1][2]

The IAA makes an annual congress called the Rencontre Assyriologique Internationale. This meeting is attended by scholars from around the world at a Near Eastern research center.[1]
