Thrombocytopenia

blood platelet disease characterized by a low platelet count

Thrombocytopenia is a condition where there is an unhealthy case of low levels of platelets, also known as thrombocytes, in the blood.[1]

A normal human platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood.[2] This condition can often make a person have 50,000 per microliter.[3]
