Tunç Başaran

Turkish screenwriter and film director

Tunç Başaran (October 1, 1938 – December 18, 2019) was a Turkish screenwriter, movie director, movie producer and actor. He was born in Istanbul. In 1964 he directed his first feature Survival. By 1962, he had directed about 40 movies. He directed Ayşecik ve Sihirli Cüceler Rüyalar Ülkesinde, Don't Let Them Shoot the Kite and Piano Piano Kid.

Başaran died on December 18, 2019 in Istanbul of soft-tissue sarcoma at the age of 81.[1]
