Tupolev

Russian aerospace and defence company

Tupolev, officially called Tupolev Joint Stock Company, is a Russian Aerospace and Military equipment company known primarily for producing aircraft.[1]

Tupolev began as the Soviet Tupolev Design Bureau, founded in 1922 by Andrei Tupolev. The company has designed over 100 different types of aircraft, and built over 18,000 aircraft for countries in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc.

In 2006, Tupolev became part of the United Aircraft Corporation along with Mikoyan, Ilyushin, Irkut, Sukhoi, and Yakovlev.[2]
