Ulvophyceae

class of algae

The Ulvophyceae or Ulvophytes are class of green algae. Other well-known members include Ulothrix, Acetabularia and Caulerpa. Others, such as Cladophora, Rhizoclonium and Pithophora live in fresh water and in some areas are considered weeds.
