Wikipedia:Administrators or Wikipedia:Interface administrators change

An interface administrator is a user that can change JS (JavaScript), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and JSON pages. These are pages like MediaWiki:Common.js and MediaWiki:Common.css that affect the way people see pages. Interface administrators can also change other users' JS and CSS pages. This user right is only given for a short amount of time, and not permanently. This is because of security issues.

An interface administrator is a different right from being a regular administrator. Before 27 August 2018, administrators could edit JS and CSS pages. Now, the interface administrator permission is needed to edit those pages. Requests should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions#Requests for interface administrator. The user right will be given by a bureaucrat. This user right should not be held for longer than necessary, and bureaucrats should always add an expiry date to the rights even for themselves.

There are 0 interface administrators on the Simple English Wikipedia.

Interface administrators change

Interface administrator rights are granted to users who need to change JS, CSS, and JSON pages on the wiki. This is a different right from being a regular administrator. Before this right was created, administrators could change these pages; now only interface administrators can change these pages for security reasons.
