Shootsta, a subscription-based video production and technology company, was established in 2015 by Founder and CEO Mike Pritchett, and Co-founder and CTO Tim Moylan. Shootsta is headquartered out of London, United Kingdom, with offices in Australia, the USA, Singapore and Hong Kong[1].

Shootsta enables brands to create video content by training clients across marketing, communications, sales and training departments to shoot their own video footage. They provide companies with gear and training for in-house production, so organisations can shoot videos as and when required.

Its core product offering includes a purpose-built camera Kit[2] and training, a cloud-based video management Hub, and professional video editing with 24-hour turnaround. Shootsta also offers a global network of on-demand camera operators.

History

change

Shootsta launched in Australia in 2015. The idea for the company began as early as 2012, when Founder and CEO Mike Pritchett was brainstorming a solution to the demand for video among corporates, as there was a lack of viable answers that prioritised quality. After two years of research and a year of beta testing, Shootsta was established.

Success came early on, with Shootsta managing to secure over 20 blue-chip clients in less than six months. With the onboarding of big names like Qantas and Toyota immediately after launch, Shootsta’s success skyrocketed.

In 2017, Shootsta signed their 100th client, and established their Asian office in Singapore[1].

In 2018, it recorded revenue growth of 225%[3] – with FY17 revenue achieving 351% of the FY16 result worldwide – and launched offices in the UK and the USA. So far, they have completed over 10,000 projects with a team of 70 people staffing their five offices worldwide.

Funding

change

In 2016, Shootsta closed $1 million in funding that valued the startup at nearly $7 million then[4]. The investment came from ASX-listed ad agency AdCorp, which took a 15% stake in the company. After the investment, AdCorp CEO and MD David Morrison took a seat on the board, while Shootsta’s Pritchett and Moylan remained in charge of the company, with the funding used to expand the startup’s marketing and sales efforts.

Services

change

Shootsta allows employees within organisations to create high-quality and cost-effective video content. The company teaches its clients how to shoot engaging content, and provides a purpose-built Shootsta Kit and all the training and support they need. Clients are then free to shoot content and upload files to the Shootsta Hub  and Shootsta’s team of editors do all the post-production in 24 hours.
