The Tower of Babel ... article content follows.[1]
The Tower of Babel is a painting by Peter Bruegel in 1563. The painting is displayed in a museum in Rotterdam, Holland. It is a painting of thousands of people building a very tall tower, through the clouds, up to heaven. Based on a mythical story from the Bible, a long time ago during construction, everyone spoke only one, same language. God found out about the construction, got angry and punished the people. He made them all speak different languages and spread them all over the world. This painting is a representation of that story, showing the confusion in the construction, with some parts still being built and some parts already falling apart due to age or poor construction.
