Your userpage. change

Hey. Your userpage has been deleted per WP:NOT. Our policy states "A personal homepage and/or file storage area. You should not use your user page as a home page." Your page was acting as you homepage, listing your personal info and the video games you own does not contribute to our encyclopedia. I encourage you to continue to contribute to the Simple English Wikipedia. Thanks--Gordonrox24 | Talk 01:43, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey! I spent a lot of hard work on that, and now there's no way for me to get it back! Well, if that's the way it's going to be, then I'll just go to another wiki. I've had it. I'm indefinitely blocked on Wikipedia because, apparently, edit warring is at the top of the no-no list (edit warring is nothing compared to the other things that happen, such as copyright infringement), then my userpage gets deleted here and I'm reprimanded for trying to share my interests. I may come back, but I don't know. *sighs* I'm not upset with you, specifically, I'm just frustrated with this whole things. If a note had been left regarding this when I first started doing updates, which was on Jan. 3rd when I created my userpage, then it wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but it happens today after I've made a lot of progress. - Amaury (talk) 02:16, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
This reply ignores the fact the we already discussed this exact topic over an en.WP. You clearly don't want to understand that this is not about you. This is an encyclopedia, if you are not here to work on that as your foremost task you are in the wrong place. You had made something like a hundred and fifty edits to your various userpages, user subpages, status page, etc. You have only made about twenty edits to articles. If you have an interest in a video game, it is much more helpful and in the spirit of this project to work on the article about that game than to document your love for it on your userpage. I'm disappointed but I can't say I am the least bit surprised. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:11, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm not dealing with you and your unfair criticism. It's a good thing that you aren't an administrator here. I tried to be nice and calm about the whole thing at WP, but I guess that didn't work with you. Before I continue, I got a warning for some reason. I've never edited under our I.P. address, and that's not even our I.P. address, so I'm not sure why I'm getting the "New message" thing. Okay, so looking at it again, it looks like it was in October 2008, but I wasn't even at WP for two reasons. I didn't know it existed and I didn't join until December 2008. Also, since it was back then, I'm not sure why I'm just now getting the message. Anyway, back on-topic, reading your administrator review on WP, I see that I'm not the only one that has concerns regarding your blocks. Also, looking at this, this user has gotten blocked for worse reasons than me and has gotten blocked more than me, and yet he still gets chances, and all I do is edit war, and I'm indefinitely blocked? Looking at his block log, the same thing that you say to me could be said to him. "I see no reason to believe anything you say.". Looking at this edit, it looks like I'm not the only one that you're uncivil to. Anyway, for the record, I was making a lot of edits to things that weren't mine on WP when I was reverting, but then my Huggle use was disabled for supposedly continuing my non-disruptive editing, which I did not. Oh, but wait, you're not going to believe any of this because you hate me, so why did I write all this!? /sarcasm - Amaury (talk) 00:30, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I don't hate you. I wouldn't be bothering to talk you if I did. I, and many others, have tried to explain what Wikipedia is for, but you refuse to listen. As for Dr. Connolley, I agree he shouldn't be allowed to edit Wikipedia and has caused far more disruption than you ever did. However, he has a cadre of supporters and has been through a prolonged ArbCom case that sets specific restrictions on him instead of just giving him the boot entirely. I can't just go over the head of that decision and block him anyway. Well, actually I could, but I would be reversed and probably would have my admin tools revoked in short order. In any event this is all completely unrelated to what you did wrong over at en.WP. You weren't just blocked for edit warring, you were blocked because you don't listen to anyone when they try to tell you what you are doing wrong. Just like you are doing right now. If you really think this about me just not liking you, that would indeed be a very unjustified reason to have blocked you, and you can request unblock in the normal manner anytime you want. Another admin will review my decision, your actions, and your reasons for wanting to be unblocked. If you actually believe what you are saying I don't see why you wouldn't go ahead and do that. If, on the other hand, you would care to acknowledge your own poor behavior and the fact that you focus more on making elaborate user pages and updating your status than on working on building and maintaining an encyclopedia, there may be hope for you yet. The choice is yours. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:35, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Like on WP, I completely agree. I did edit war, and I did try to listen (try being the keyword), but, obviously, I failed somewhere since I ended up getting blocked. However, I still do feel that another chance or two would have been more or less okay since edit warring, in my opinion, seems to be at the bottom of the list, but it also depends on the level of edit warring. I also agree with the block, I just don't agree that it should have been indefinite. Regardless of previous issues, I think I should have been blocked until 1/1/2011 so I could, like I said on WP, make it a New Year's resolution to be a better user and start anew. Let bygones be bygones. That doesn't mean we forget it about, it just means that we let go of it. If it had been that way, I would have also agreed to being kept a close eye on. Again, I did edit war. Should I have continued edit warring after previous edit warring blocks? No. However, the fact is, is that I did, and I agree that a consequence was needed -- just not an indefinite one. Thanks for writing, and, hopefully, we can find a resolution soon... together. - Amaury (talk) 23:57, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
