V. Nanammal
India's oldest Yoga teacher (1920-2019)
V. Nanammal (24 February 1920 – 26 October 2019) was an Indian Yoga teacher. She was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She trained one million students over 45 years and taught one hundred students daily. Six hundred of her students have become Yoga instructors around the world.[1][2][3]

Her work was honored with India's National Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2016[4] and the country's fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri in 2018.[5][6][7][8][9]
