Italian basketball player (1933-2025)

Vittorio Pomilio (6 May 1933 – 1 January 2025) was an Italian basketball player.

Pomilio was born in Francavilla al Mare on 6 May 1933. During his career he played for Stella Azzurra Roma, Società Cestistica Mazzini and Libertas Pescara. He was a member of the Italy national basketball team from 1957 to 1960. He played 19 matches with the national team and scored 64 points. He played at EuroBasket 1957 in Sofia. He retired from basketball in 1973.[1][2]

His son is basketball player Amalia Pomilio and his grandsons are basketball players Luca Fontecchio and Simone Fontecchio.[2] Pomilio died in Francavilla al Mare on 1 January 2025, at the age of 76.[3][4]
