Wade Wilson (movie character)

Wade Winston Wilson, also known as Deadpool, is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Deadpool movies produced by 20th Century Fox and later acquired by Disney. Originally a character from Marvel Comics, Wade Wilson is a former special forces operative who becomes a mercenary. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, he undergoes an experimental treatment that gives him superhuman abilities, including accelerated healing. However, the treatment also leaves him disfigured, which contributes to his anti-hero persona.

The Deadpool movies, released in 2016 and 2018, received critical and commercial success for their R-rated blend of action and comedy, as well as Reynolds' charismatic performance. The character is known for his unconventional approach to heroism, often employing violence and humor in equal measure. The franchise stands out for its self-aware humor, satirical takes on superhero tropes, and an emphasis on the character's internal struggles.

As of now, a third installment was released, further expanding the Deadpool universe in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
