Waldemar de Brito
Brazilian footballer (1913-1979)
Waldemar de Brito (Portuguese pronunciation: [vɐwdeˈmaɾ dʒi ˈbɾitu], 17 May 1913 – 21 February 1979) is a former Brazilian football player. He has played for Brazil national team. He is acknowledged to have discovered Pelé during the latter's early footballing days. His brother, Petronilho de Brito, was also a footballer. Regarded to be one of the best forwards of all time. De Brito was known as a goalscorer who beat any goalkeepers with his dribbling skills and beating opponents and he has been considered as one of the greatest dribblers in the 1930s.
