Austrian footballer (1932-2017)

Walter Kollmann (17 June 1932 – 16 May 2017)[1] was an Austrian footballer. He played as defender for Wacker Wien and the Austrian national football team.

Career

During his club career he played for SC Wacker Wien. There he played 202 matches in the Staatsliga, the highest division of Austrian football. He made his debut for Wacker Wien on 7 October 1951 in a 3-0 win at home against SK Sturm Graz.[2] His last league game for Wacker was on 20 March 1960 in a goalless draw away against ESV Admira Wien.[3] With the relegation of his team, he moved to the Wiener Sport Club, for which he only played four matches.

Kollmann played 16 matches for the Austria national football team. He played at the 1954 FIFA World Cup and the 1958 FIFA World Cup.[4] He also represented Austria at the 1952 Summer Olympics.[5]
