Gordonrox24 change

Gordonrox24 (talk · contribs) Hey guys. I have been an off an on editor here at simple in the past, but have recently decided to make Simple my home wiki. I just wanted some feedback from the community on my edits/contributions, and I wanted to hear any suggestions that you may have to make me a better more effective editor here at simple. Anything is appreciated! Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:15, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Well, this has been here long enough to warrant a review from somebody. Admittedly, I'm not very active and haven't really interacted with you a lot personally, but I suppose that allows me to be fairly neutral. I reviewed many of your edits (in particular, the distribution of edits per the edit counter, and the past 100 edits you've made, by looking at your changes). Your numbers in the edit counters look good. You have mostly main-space edits, with a reasonable number of wikipedia-space and user-talk-space edits, showing the typical pattern of a constructive editor/community member. Your deleted edits appear to be largely QD nominations, which appear to be done correctly. You already have rollback but it seems you use Twinkle, mostly. Your reverts appear to be accurate, although I question one use. I am glad that you learned from the fair-use-image debate some lessons about how consensus is formed and I hope it does not discourage you from engaging in future discussions. Fixing spelling errors and inserting images are important parts of building this encyclopedia; keep at it. If you have any questions about my review, feel free to ask. I encourage at least one other editor to also provide a review. Regards, EhJJTALK 17:43, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I like to think that my best contributions to Wikipedia are spread out over many areas. I like to look for errors in spelling, and simplify pages, but I spend most of my time here either reverting vandalism or looking for articles that I think could use an image to become clearer to the reader
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Unfortunately here I must say yes. In my first few months editing here I brought up the topic of fair use images being uploaded locally at Simple Talk. That stirred up some discussion and I said some things that probably made me look like a fool. Coming back into it, I have decided to only give my two cents once. Put in my opinion, and then let the discussion flow from there. I am trying to not let rebuttals get on my nerves, and am concentrating more on written work this time around.
