Workingmen's Parties (United States)

Workingmen's Parties (United States) were political parties set up to promote the rights of working people. From 1828 to 1834, such parties were established in 61 towns and cities across the United States.[1] Amongst the demands of such parties included free public education, the abolition of child labor and imprisonment for debt, improved housing, sanitation and working conditions.[2]
