Yann-Fañch Kemener

traditional singer (1957–2019)

Yann-Fañch Kemener (April 7, 1957 – March 16, 2019) was a French traditional singer-songwriter. He was born in Sainte-Tréphine (Côtes-d'Armor), France. He took part in reviving Kan ha diskan (French: chant et contre-chant) in the 1970s and 1980s, especially with Erik Marchand. He wrote songs from the oral tradition in the Breton language.[1]

Kemener died in Tréméven on March 16, 2019 at age 61.[2]
