Yiannis Boutaris

Yiannis Boutaris (Greek: Γιάννης Μπουτάρης; 13 June 1942 – 9 November 2024) was a Greek businessman and politician. He was the Mayor of Thessaloniki from 2011 to 2019. From 2003 to 2011 and again from January 2024 and until his death, he was a municipal councilor of Thessaloniki. Boutaris was an Independent. Boutaris was born in Thessaloniki.

Boutaris died on 9 November 2024 in Thessaloniki from problems caused by hip surgery, aged 82.^[1]^[2]
