Zoltán Peskó

Hungarian conductor

Zoltán Peskó (15 February 1937 – 31 March 2020) was a Hungarian conductor and composer. Peskó was born in Budapest. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music with Goffredo Petrassi and Franco Ferrara, as well as with Pierre Boulez in Switzerland in the 1960s.

He became an assistant under Lorin Maazel at the German Symphony Orchestra, Berlin. Peskó was chief conductor of the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa [pt], the orchestra of the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, from 2001 to 2004.[1]

Peskó died on 31 March 2020 at age of 85.[2]
